Joan C. Heidorn
Prior to the formation of Spur, Joan served as COO and Principal of another venture capital fund-of-funds manager, where she was a member of the Investment Committee and other key decision-making bodies in addition to recruiting the team and developing internal systems.
Prior to her involvement in the fund-of-funds industry beginning in 1994, Joan served as Group Controller for a manufacturing subsidiary of a multi-national company and worked for a group of venture capital-backed medical devices companies.
After growing up in New England, Joan completed undergraduate and graduate studies in accounting and taxation, receiving an M.A. from Florida Atlantic University. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a CFA charter holder.
Joan resides in Oklahoma with her husband and two children. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and entertaining, fitness and travel. She serves on the Advisory Board for her children's school and is active in its fund-raising efforts.
